Holding Festivals

Holding festivals in any country is a matter of debate. Many people think festivals comprise a big advantage for their countries, whereas others object to accept this idea.

For people who support the importance of holding festivals, they think that festivals develop and improve economy. Also, festivals bring joy and happiness. They remind them of their history. In addition to that, festivals attract many tourists and convey a good reputation globally.

On the other hand, people who are against holding festivals think that they cause chaos and noise. They see that festivals are a waste of time and money.

Finally, I think that festivals like Hala February in Kuwait are patriotic and economic events. I usually take part in Hala February festival activities. I walk on streets waving flags, doing shopping and participate in ruffles and contests and enjoy fireworks display. As I see holding festivals has more pros than cons.

The Hajj

 The Hajj is an important event for every Muslim. It is the fifth pillar of Islam. Hajj is a must for Muslims who can afford it.

          There are certain preparations that should be done before going to the Hajj. People, expected to go to the Hajj should purify themselves. They should read about the rituals of the Hajj. Also, they should buy clothes and materials necessary for the Hajj.

          During the Hajj pilgrims go round the Ka’aba and stone devils. They do every ritual in unison. The Hajj represents the equality and unity of all Muslim. They are dressed the same. Also, they perform the same rituals in the same way.

          Finally, I think the Hajj is so important that we all wish to perform it as soon as possible. It is a good opportunity to obtain Allah’s forgiveness. It is a sign of unity and equality.

       It is vital to keep healthy and fit. It helps us to enjoy our life. It also gives us chance to work harder and get better jobs. In addition, sound mind is in sound body so keeping healthy leads to good thinking.

Keeping Fit and Healthy

        To keep healthy and fit, we should sleep well, do exercise and eat healthy food. Our diets should be balanced. They should contain the RDA of proteins, vitamins, fats, minerals and water in reasonable amounts. We also should add things to our daily diet like probiotic drinks, green tea and dark chocolate to be healthier. Moreover, we should eat home-made food as much as we can. Home-made food is healthier, tastier, cleaner and more natural than the fast food.

         Finally, I think we should do exercise daily to be fit. Once we do that we will be away from hospitals.

Vegetarians

          In fact, some people don’t eat meat, chicken or fish. They are vegetarian. However, many people aren’t in favour of this lifestyle.

          Vegetarian menu has many benefits. It is rich in vitamins, minerals and water. It helps vegetarians not to be obese. It is low in saturated fat.

          On the other hand, vegetarian lifestyle cause many health problems. They may bring about malnutrition and dizziness. Also, vegetarians lack very important food elements. They lack the RDA of protein and iron.

          Finally, I think we should eat a balanced diet that contains all food elements in reasonable amounts.

The Courts

         There are two different points of view concerning solving our problems in courts. Some people think it is necessary not to resort to courts to solve our problems. Others see that it is a must.

Many people support the idea of solving our problems in a friendly way and away from courts. They ensure that solving problems in such way strengthen our good relations. It helps not to clog up courts. In addition, it helps to prosecute real criminals.

On the other hand, other people see that it is better to solve our problems even the minor one’s in courts. They think it is the best way to keep our rights. Minor litigation is growing these days for many reasons. A new culture of blame has just appeared in our society. In addition, most people lack tolerance to forgive.

Finally, I am in favour of being tolerant and settle our problems away from courts.   

Laws

         Laws are very necessary for any country. They keep society ordered. They also protect the rights of good people against those people who do wrong. Moreover, laws keep us safe and secure.

Kuwaiti laws are drawn from the teaching of the Holy Qua’arn. They also protect the rights of all people regardless of their beliefs or persuasions.

There are different types of laws. In Kuwait we have three types of laws; criminal law, civil law and family law. They all organize relations among the components of any society.

I think that in the absence of law, our life would be at a mess and crimes would grow. Rights of good people would vanish. Laws should be backed with strict penalties so as to work more effectively.

Finally, I think that when we punish criminals by executing murderers or sending thieves to prisons, we will reduce crimes and live in peace.

Crimes

Crimes are wrong actions that violate laws or rules in a society. There are many types of crimes the most known ones are the traditional crimes and computer crimes. We consider murder, theft and fraud, traditional crimes, as old types of crime. While techno-crimes are seen as new crimes.

Techno-crimes like identity theft, hacking or sending viruses are more difficult to solve than the ordinary crimes. Techno-criminals are invisible so their actions are too impossible to prove. Techno-crimes are growing nowadays. The number of people who use the internet websites is growing.

It is necessary to use the internet safely as not to be threatened by these crimes. We should use antivirus programmes. We also shouldn’t give out our credit number or password on line. To reduce ordinary crimes, we have to secure our valuables. We also should fix an alarm system.

Finally, I think that we should hand in hand combat the criminals behavior in our society.

Litigation

The amount of litigation has increased dramatically in recent years. Some people are for solving even minor issues and cases inside courts. Other people are against that. In this report I will discuss these two points of view showing my own opinion.

For those who are for solving minor issues inside courts the increase in the number of cases actually shows our courts are working. For them courts are the only suitable place to settle disagreements and disputes.

However, people who are against say that solving petty issues away from courts is better. They argue that these cases are a reflection of the culture of blame which has spread recently. People search for someone to blame for accidents they have already done. Spreading tolerance, justice and equality are the best solution to reduce cases inside courts.

To conclude, I can say that discussing minor issues in courts preventing our legal system from operating efficiently. For petty cases courts should be the very last resort rather than the first port of call. I think solving such cases away from courts is better by far.

Migration

Many people leave their countries and emigrate to live in other countries for many reasons. People usually emigrate to seek better life than they live in their homeland. Others emigrate to seek better jobs and more money. Other people leave their countries to escape wars, famine and natural disasters.

On the other hand, migration has many disadvantages. Migrants are obliged to deal with different habits, traditions, cultures and languages. Also, migrants suffer from stress. Some migrants suffer from homesickness. In addition, miss their relatives, close friends and happy memories they left in their countries.

Kuwait offers many facilities for migrants. Kuwait offers good jobs, high salaries and good life conditions. Moreover, Kuwaiti people are tolerant and friendly with migrants.

Finally, I think that migration is difficult to endure, but it is sometimes necessary.

Family Celebrations

Family celebrations are happy occasions on which family members gather regularly. They are very important and necessary. They boost family relations. They cause families to be close-knit. Family members gather to celebrate certain occasions and to settle any problems.

In Kuwait, we have different family celebrations. We have birthdays, wedding, having new born babies, returning from the Hajj, dinner parties and having a new job. On these family occasions we usually do a lot of things. We can sing songs, dance, chat, eat delicious food and play games. My favourite family celebration is birthday parties as I meet all my friends and relatives.

To arrange for a family celebration we need many things. We need food, drinks, invitations, cards and a suitable place. In Kuwait we usually hold our family celebrations in our homes, hotels, halls, clubs or even in tents. For me I prefer to hold our family celebrations in our homes because I feel free and they are more comfortable.

Finally, I think all family members should take part in family celebrations.

Meeting Places

People usually get together in different places. They usually meet others in their homes, clubs, coffee houses, parks, hotels or shopping malls. They usually gather to discuss problems, do business or to have fun.

Young people usually go to coffee houses. They are nice places. They should have nice setting, cleanliness, good service and delicious beverages. They go to coffee houses to socialize with friends. They also go there to enjoy hot or cold drinks. They enjoy watching exclusive sporting events in coffee houses. They read newspapers and chat, as well.

In coffee houses, we drink coffee. It is very popular in Kuwait to drink coffee. It gives energy. It also has delicious taste. It is also a sign of hospitality. Others like tea. They think that tea keeps us cool and relaxed.

Finally, I think that coffee houses, Diwanyas and the meeting places are good resorts to relax and enjoy.

Diwaniyas

Diwaniyas are informal social gatherings usually of Kuwaiti men. People meet at Diwaniyas to discuss business, political, sports and social issues. Nowadays Diwaniyas serve many different purposes. In the past, diwaniyas were held in tents. Nowadays, they have separate buildings.

Family Diwaniyas play a vital role in making family ties much stronger. At Diwaniyas, many occasions are held. People receive their guests. Also, their weddings and funerals ceremonies for men are held.

Some politicians attend to Diwaniyas to meet people and encourage them to vote for them in elections. Really, they have important political function. They reinforce the strong ties between the extended families.

Finally, I think Diwanyas in Kuwait do a lot to protect the social life and the traditions through generations.

Tolerance and Peace

There is no doubt that tolerance and peace are of the best targets we all should do all the best to achieve. Spreading tolerance and peace begets countless benefits. It helps to live in a safe world.

Tolerance and peace help spread love among people in the world. Also, wars and disagreements will vanish so rivers of blood will dry. In addition, when tolerance and peace prevail, we will be able to build up a great development in the whole world. Countries and people will come closer, as well.

To spread peace and tolerance, we should discuss and solve disagreements among countries. Also, the UN and the leaders of the world should hold and sponsor conferences to promote and further the culture of tolerance and peace as Kuwait and Sheikh Subah Al-Ahmed always do.

To conclude, I think we should exert the due efforts to further tolerance and peace on earth.

Impressive Buildings

Many countries all over the world are interested in building impressive and great buildings. Impressive buildings attract a lot of tourists. Also, they give a beautiful image of a country. They become sightseeing for people to visit and enjoy. They mark and distinguish countries.

There are different impressive buildings in the gulf and in other different areas. In Dubai there is Burj Khalifa.  In Kuwait we have many great buildings like the National Assembly building, Kuwait Towers and 360̊ Kuwait. Also, there is Sydney opera house in Australia. Designers use modern and traditional styles of building so most of them are expressionist.

 360̊ Kuwait is not only for shopping. It is also educational and entertaining building.

Finally, I think it is important to have such impressive buildings in our country.

Building an Airport

In fact, building a new airport in our area is a matter of debate. Some people support the idea, but others are against.

For people who support the idea, they have good reasons. They think that a new airport will boost trade and business. Also, it will make travelling easier and faster. It will also encourage tourism to our area.

On the other hand, some people are against building a new airport in our area. They see that a new airport will bring about overcrowding and traffic problems. It will also cause road accidents. In addition, it will cause much noise so students can’t study well.

To conclude, I think building a new airport near a residential area is unacceptable. It should be built in a desert area.

Tolerance

Tolerance is one of the most important human values. It is universal. All cultures and creeds believe that it is a divine gift to be tolerant. Tolerance is the ability to forgive others who abuse. In addition, tolerance is a belief that helps us to behave well.

Tolerance is very important. It helps us to live together peacefully. Tolerance helps spread love among people. Moreover, lack of tolerance leads to many conflicts and problems. Also, lack of tolerance makes people resort to prosecuting each other even for petty problems. Islam teaches us to show tolerance to all people.

To be tolerant, one should be patient and faithful because it is not easy to put up with others’ bad behaviours.

Finally, I think we should train ourselves to be tolerant to live in peace and harmony.

Respect

Respect is an important human value. It helps all people and countries live in peace. In addition, it helps us to understand each other and co-operate for the sake of the whole globe. It is certain to be respected when we respect other cultures, creeds and traditions. Islam orders Muslims to respect other people regardless of their race, gender or faiths.

We can show respect to others in different ways. We should commemorate their important events. Also, we should celebrate their figure in all fields. We should be aware of holding interfaith dialogues to bridge the gaps and settle disagreements. In addition, we should show respect to others even if we are different.

Finally, I think it is a must to respect other cultures and creeds. Respect is a universal value that all cultures keep in consideration. It is an urgent appeal to show respect to others.
