The Circus
The circus is a nice place. We go there to enjoy our time. We can see a lot of things there. We see acrobats, clowns and animals. I like seeing the tightrope walker.
The clown makes wonderful tricks. He is a clever person. Riding on a pony is fun. Walking on hands is difficult but interesting. Juggling is my favourite act. I’d like to join a circus school to be a famous juggler.
Tightrope walker
A tightrope walker is a clever person. He works in the circus. He walks on a tightrope. The rope is pulled very tight so that it’s straight. He steps carefully on it.
A tightrope walker should balance himself while walking on the rope. Many people admire him. He sometimes carries heavy things in his arms. I’d like to be a famous tightrope walker. I’m going to join a circus school.
Folktales
Folktales are popular or traditional stories. They are an example of folklore. A folktale can be a story about animals. These animals act like humans. They live in the world of wonder and magic.
Most of these stories convey a message or moral مغزىto the reader. They may explain something in a creative way. Folktales are often passed down from generation to generation. I like listening to folktales. They are very interesting.
Folklore
Folklore is the knowledge that’s passed on from one person to the next by word of mouth. The word “folklore” is derived from two words. “Folk” means people who share common factors عوامل مشتركة . “Lore” means knowledge or wisdom. Folklore is a part of our everyday life.
There are three types of folklore. They are oral, material and behavioural. Oral folklore is in songs, poetry and jokes. Material folklore is in home decorations, puppets and quilts. Behavioural folklore is in customs and rituals. Folklore can be found all around us. We find it in children’s lore, family lore and community lore.
Storytelling
Telling stories is an ancient art. Telling a story aloud requires some skills. People began to tell stories a long time ago. They had told stories before they learned to read and write. We are really interested in listening to stories.
A good story teller should be an actor. He should have varied voice and interesting sound. He needs to know when he speaks loudly and when he whispers. He should have expressive face that can capture different moods and feelings. He needs to use face and body to bring the story alive.
Story writing
Writing a story is an ancient art. It requires many skills. A story writer must have inventive imagination. He should have a sense of sympathy. He needs to feel what the characters are experiencing. He should be organised and have plenty of patience.
A good story is like a cake. It must have all the right ingredients. A story must include characters, setting, plot and ending. Difficulties make the story more interesting. I’d like to be a story writer.
Reading stories
Reading stories is my favourite hobby. I always read stories in my free time. I usually go to the library to read stories. I sometimes borrow stories from the public library. There are different kinds of stories. They are funny, tragic or scary stories.
My father always buys me new stories from the bookshop. Writing a story is a difficult job. Every story must have the right ingredients. They are characters, setting, plot and ending.
Holidays
A holiday is a special day marking a special event. The word holiday derives from the two words holy and day. There are many types of holidays such as religious, national and personal. People can celebrate their holidays in different ways. Some people fast, others pray or visit interesting places.
Some people may send messages or make a phone call, others may give an expensive gift. Some people like to stay at home with families and friends. Other people spend their holiday in busy cities like Tokyo and Malaysia. Some people like to visit historical places. Some others choose a summer vacation to relax. All people like holidays to relax and have rest and fun.
Malaysia
Malaysia is a beautiful country. It lies in southeast Asia. Kuala Lumpur is its capital. It borders Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei and the Philippines. Malaysia has a monsoonal climate. It is hot and humid all year long.
Malaysia is rich in natural resources. It’s famous for its economy and tourism. It has a wonderful butterfly park. Malaysia has many festivals. Its people are very friendly.
A Healthy Lifestyle

Thank you for your last e-mail. How are you? I’d like to tell you about “A Healthy Lifestyle”.
Let me start by saying that health is a crown on the head of healthy people. We should appreciate this gift in order to lead a healthy life style. Keeping fit and healthy is very important. You need to do physical exercises daily. You should eat lots of fruit, vegetables and white meat.
On the other hand, you should eat less sweets and fats .It is better to eat bread and cereals because they are full of vitamins. You should get enough sleep. You should also take rest when you feel tired. Finally, don’t forget to share problems with your family, because they are always there to help you.

Water
Water is the secret of life. It is very important. There are many sources of water like wells, lakes, rivers, rains and seas. The water of the sea is salty so we can’t drink it. We must drink fresh water. There are many essential uses of water. We can use water for washing, cooking, farming and drinking. We can also use it to clean dishes and to grow crops.
Dirty water is full of harmful bacteria which cause diseases like cholera. Fresh water is not enough in some countries. We must save water by turning the taps off. We should put advertisements on TV. Every drop of water is life. Water is a precious gift from Allah so we shouldn’t waste it.
Traffic Jams

”Traffic Jams’ Traffic jam is one of the biggest problems that big cities face nowadays. People get stressed because of the traffic jam and noise. They can’t hear each other because of the car horns and traffic noise especially at the rush hour time. When there are too many cars and lorries, it becomes too difficult to walk and park vehicles in the town centre. But the biggest problem is air pollution.
There are many ways to solve traffic jam. We can build more flyovers. We can make tunnels. The streets should be wider. We can use buses instead of cars. We should plant more trees to stop pollution. We can make ring roads. We can build underground car parks.

Last week , I wasn’t able to sit for my exam because I was at home suffering from a bad cold. The teacher said I could sit for it the next morning. What happened ! First, my alarm didn’t work. Then, my sister didn’t find her school bag. We weren’t able to catch the bus,
So my father took us by his car . The streets were crowded and we couldn’t move easily. When I got to school, The teacher hadn’t arrived. She was stuck in the traffic, too. I couldn’t believe it. But at last, I was able to the test and I managed to pass.

Famous Doctors
There were many famous doctors in the world such as Al-Razi, Galen, Hippocrates and Ibn Sina. Doctors helped patients a lot. Doctors discovered many important medical discoveries like blood groups, X-rays, aspirin, vitamins, vaccination, an aesthetic, antiseptic, antibiotics and DNA. I think that vaccination is the most important discovery. It is very important because it stops people getting dangerous diseases. It gives them strong immune.
Al- Razi was the first doctor to discover allergies. He made many important medical discoveries. He also wrote over 50 medical books and articles.
Galen did eye operations. He did many experiments He worked as a surgeon. He studied how blood moves round the body. He wrote many books on medicine and anatomy.
Hippocrates is known as the father of medicine. He based his work on observation, the description of symptom , the study of the human body and talking to patients. He treated the body as a whole. He believed in the importance of rest, a good diet, fresh air and hygiene. He said that thoughts and feeling came from the brain. Today, medical students take the Hippocratic oath.

Malaysia is a beautiful country. It lies in Asia . The capital of Malaysia is Kuala Lumpur. The weather is hot and humid all year long. The region has a monsoonal climate. Malaysia is rich in natural resources. I went to Malaysia with my family. We stayed in a hotel for two weeks. We went shopping in old souqs and modern shopping malls. I bought a special present for my friend. We went to the museum and the zoo. We visited the butterfly parks. They were very wonderful. People in Malaysia were friendly. We met a lot of people there and make friends with them. I advise you to visit Malaysia soon because it is really a fantastic country. I love it.

My City
Cairo is a lovely city. I live in Cairo. It’s the capital of Egypt. It’s a very crowded city. About 15 million inhabitants live there. It’s famous for modern shops and restaurants. Many tourists visit Cairo. You can see the past and present if you go there.
You can see many contrasts in Cairo. You can see very modern areas near very poor ones. Traffic jam is a big problem in Cairo. There are a lot of cars and people. Cairo is rich in many educational places like the Opera and Cairo University. There are many historical places like Mohammed Ali Fort and Al-Hussein Mosque.
Disability
All of us agree that the person with disability is so often the expert of his own needs. Disabled people suffer from many problems. They are often ignored by others. Some people deal with them awkwardly. People don’t understand their capabilities. We should believe in their likes and dislikes. Special schools and clubs should be built for them.
Many disabled people have talent in many aspects of life. MacDonald is an example of disabled athletes. He is the first blind canoeist. His great trip aimed at raising money for national charity. He set up Ability Exploration. It helps the disabled to take part in creative expeditions.
