Danielle peers Is a famous basketball player. She was born in Canada. She was born in 1978. She had a disease which made her muscles weak. She became disabled. She didn’t give up hope. She worked hard.
She played wheelchair basketball. She had six gold medals. She was honored as the world’s most valuable player. Newspapers focus on disabled people problem. She wanted to focus on their success. So we should think of them positively.
Treasures
There are many archaeological treasures in the world. The mask of king Tutankhamen is one of the most beautiful treasures. It was found in Egypt in 1922. The Broighter’s hoard was found in Ireland. A farm worker found it .
Tell El Ajjul hoard was found in Palestine. Archaeologists found five hoards in the tombs. The mask of Pacal was found in Mexico. Pacal was a Mayan king in Central America. The terracotta army was found in China. The emperor buried terracotta soldiers and horses with him. Workers found it in 1974.
Keeping fit
It’s important to keep fit. Keeping fit helps you to study better. It is easy to keep fit. If you walk or play football, you will keep fit.
There are three types of exercise. Aerobic is like swimming. Stretching is like yoga. Resistance is like press ups .You should eat healthy food. You should play sports. You should sleep well. You shouldn’t watch TV. for a long time.
The Olympic Games
The first Olympic Games began in 776 BC. It took place every 4 years. It stopped in 393 AD. Coubertin started The Olympic Games again in the 19th century. The Olympic Games has a flag . It has five rings. They represent the five continents.
An Olympiad is the four years period between the Olympic Games. There is a Winter Olympic Games now. The winter sports are like skiing and skating. I like watching the Olympic Games on TV.
Kubbar Island
Last week I went to Kubbar Island. I went with my family. We went by a ferry. We saw the seagulls .We walked on the beach. We went fishing and swimming. We saw the coral reefs. We ate sandwiches and fruit. We enjoyed the fresh air. Kubbar Island is fantastic. I’d like to go there a gain.
Kuwait in the past — Pearl Diving
In the past Kuwait was famous for pearl diving. Pearls are small shiny balls. They are formed in oyster shell. They are very expensive. Pearl diving was a social system .
The pearl diver wears a skirt, a nose clip and a neck basket. There are diving festivals every year. People dance and sing in these festivals. New Kuwait is famous for oil.
Deserts
Deserts are very dry, hot places .They are very cold at night. There are five deserts in the world. Sahara desert is the biggest desert. Deserts have many resources like gold and oil.
Animals have to adapt to live in the deserts. Camels can live without water for a long time. The nomadic live in the deserts. They live in tents. They use camels to move from one place to another. I’d like to live in the desert.
The Blue Mosque
The Blue mosque is in Turkey. It is very big. It is square .It was built by sultan Ahmed. It has six minarets. The minaret is a tall tower joined to the mosque. It has blue tiles. It has a courtyard.
It has 260 glass windows .Tourists like visiting The Blue Mosque. I’d like to go to Turkey to see The Blue Mosque.
The disabled people (The handicapped)
The handicapped people have weak muscles. They couldn’t walk. They use wheelchairs. We should help them .We should be kind with them. We shouldn’t look at them in a strange way.
They shouldn’t give up hope. Newspapers talk about their problems. We should focus on their success. Danielle is a good example. She won 6 gold medals.
